American-Bangladeshis for Democracy welcomes appointment of Brent Christensen as new U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh.

The American-Bangladeshis for Democracy (ABD), led by its President, Mr. Nahidul Khan, warmly congratulates Brent Christensen on his appointment as the new U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh.

Ambassador Christensen is no stranger to Bangladesh, having previously served in the country from 2019 to 2021 as a political and economic counselor. His return to Dhaka in this new capacity is welcomed with optimism and enthusiasm by the Bangladeshi-American community, who see in his appointment a continuation of the deep ties that unite the two nations.

“We are delighted to welcome Ambassador Christensen back to Bangladesh,” said Mr. Khan. “His prior service has given him valuable insights into the hopes and aspirations of the Bangladeshi people, and we look forward to working with him to strengthen both our democratic values and the bridges of friendship between our countries.”

The American-Bangladeshis for Democracy expressed particular hope that Ambassador Christensen will play a leading role in advancing trade and commerce, opening new avenues for investment, technology cooperation, and energy partnerships. Equally important, ABD looks forward to promoting the cultural and educational exchanges that bring Americans and Bangladeshis closer together, enriching both societies.

“With Ambassador Christensen’s leadership, we believe the U.S.–Bangladesh partnership can reach new heights in commerce, culture, and democratic cooperation,” Mr. Khan added.
